Joshua Chun ‘27, Co-Editor in Chief + Staff Writer
Joshua Chun is a senior at Catlin Gabel, and this is his first year writing for CatlinSpeak. He believes that journalism is an important way to keep people informed and in discussion about important topics. As Co-Editor-In-Chief, he will help ensure that every CatlinSpeak article this year is factual, helpful, and relevant to the Catlin Gabel community. Outside of CatlinSpeak, Joshua runs the Improv Theater and Reading to Leading clubs, is heavily involved in Catlin Gabel’s theater program as an actor and playwright, and has been a member of the ski team since his freshman year. He also enjoys singing, playing guitar, and skiing, and currently holds a third degree black belt in Taekwondo.
Hadley Cress ‘27, Co-Editor in Chief + Staff Writer
Hadley Cress is a senior at Catlin Gabel. This is her fourth year writing for CatlinSpeak. Hadley loves playing volleyball and being social with her friends, especially outdoors. She also likes reading and listening to music to relax and enjoy downtime. Hadley became interested in journalism after talking with her neighbor, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist. His work inspired her to explore journalism. Hadley wants to write to inform others about what is happening at her school and help initiate change.
Maya Igarashi ‘28, Content Design Editor + Staff Writer
Maya Igarashi is a junior at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for CatlinSpeak. She loves all things musical and artistic. In her freetime, you’ll find her exploring new music, going thrifting, or working on the Pegasus Literary Magazine. Maya cares deeply about writing and journalism, and is specifically interested in topics surrounding the environment. She also enjoys spending time with her two cats, snowboarding, and working on artistic projects using mediums such as block printing and collaging.
Hridhaan Garg ‘29, Co-Director of Marketing + Staff Writer
Hridhaan Garg is a sophomore at Catlin Gabel. This is his first year writing for CatlinSpeak, and also his first year as part of the marketing team. He loves listening to music in his free time; he’ll be listening to a variety of genres or debating who the top 3 in the current underground are. Hridhaan loves learning about all things music, and he hopes to cover more of Catlin’s music scene.
Nelle Harris ‘28, Co-Director of Marketing + Staff Writer
Nelle Harris is a junior at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for CatlinSpeak. Nelle loves rock climbing, skiing, and traveling to new places. She enjoys the outdoors and learning languages. Nelle is inspired by her mom’s work as a journalist covering local politics. She is excited to see how journalism connects people within the Catlin Gabel community.
Terra Bailey ‘29, Staff Writer
Terra Bailey is a sophomore at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for CatlinSpeak. She enjoys anything outdoor related, specifically hiking, surfing and snowboarding. She was compelled to write for CatlinSpeak because of her love of writing and storytelling. She wants to look into how different aspects of the community affect the people at Catlin Gabel. She also enjoys looking after her two cats at home.
Aryla Bajaj ‘29, Staff Writer
Aryla Bajaj is a sophomore at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for CatlinSpeak; she enjoys painting, reading and traveling. She hopes to learn more about the journalism world and how it can positively affect the Catlin community.
Gus Crooks ‘27, Staff Writer
Gus Crooks is a senior at Catlin Gabel. This is his first year writing for Catlinspeak. He brings a strong passion for music and everyday urbanism. Gus seeks to do all that he can to inform the student body through the lens of these interests. As well as highlighting exemplary student examples of these matters in the community. Leading the music improv club, and as a several year member of the Catlin Gabel jazz band, Gus does his best to learn more about the musicians of Catlin Gabel by working with them whenever he can. Outside of the classroom, he enjoys catching local performances and events going on in the city; a quick film or concert is a good afternoon to him, and a way to stay informed with current artists.

Romy Harad is a sophomore writing for CatlinSpeak for the first time this year. Romy strongly believes in protecting the First Amendment, and therefore, the power of the people. She views journalism as a form of expression, protest, and art. Romy is passionate about women’s rights, music, art, fashion, and psychology. She wants to be an outlet for the students of Catlin Gabel, amplifying their voices and educating them on what they need to know to stay informed.
Siri Hareland ‘29, Staff Writer
Siri Hareland is a sophomore at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for CatlinSpeak. She has always loved writing and is excited to write about campus news, student life, and opinion pieces. She wants to develop her voice as a journalist, share new perspectives with the community, and interview new people. Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys playing soccer, spending time with friends, playing spikeball, and traveling. She is excited to be a part of the CatlinSpeak team this year!
Grace Hu ‘28, Staff Writer
Grace Hu is a junior at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for Catlinspeak. She is excited to meet new people, explore different topics, and share stories to the Catlin Gabel community. Grace loves spending time and being social with her friends, staying active, and trying new foods. She also enjoys going to concerts, dancing, and spending time with her two dogs. On a daily basis, you’ll probably find her laughing, getting a fun drink, or catching up on her TV show. Grace wants to write to learn about other people’s stories and share new perspectives.
Addison Kelly ‘28, Staff Writer
Addison Kelly is a junior at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for CatlinSpeak, and she’s looking to explore how journalism fosters community, and impacts the student voice on campus. She’s also a part of Catlin Gabel’s mock trial team, and loves learning about the law. Outside of school, Addison loves listening to music and playing tennis.
Olivia Oreste ‘29, Staff Writer
Olivia Oreste is a sophomore at Catlin Gabel, and it’s her first year writing for CatlinSpeak. She loves to write anything and everything - poetry, stories, research papers - you name it. She initially joined CatlinSpeak to learn more about journalistic writing, and enjoys it very much. Olivia listens and reads the news everyday, and believes it’s very important to stay informed on the goings-on in the world. Some of her interests include skiing, reading, hiking, listening to music, and trying new foods.
Nina Perov ‘28, Staff Writer
Nina Perov is a junior at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing at Catlin Speak. This year, she is excited to explore journalism and share her work and stories with others! Outside of school, she likes to hangout with friends, explore new places in and outside of the city, go to the beach, and spend lots of time with family. You might catch her cuddling with her golden retriever, Zoe. She is also part of the Catlin Gabel volleyball team, and loves the team and bonding aspect of the sport. She is excited to explore more of the journalism world this year!

Leyla Pintarich is a senior at Catlin Gabel. They like to spend time making art in many mediums. They can usually be seen walking around campus wrapped up in a trench coat. This year they are interested in pursuing articles on sustainability at Catlin.

Sahana Wood ‘29, Staff Writer
Sahana Wood is a sophomore at Catlin Gabel. This is her first year writing for Catlin Speak. She is excited to learn more about how journalism can help influence public policy, where she is especially interested in how journalism relates to foreign policy and international relations. Outside of Catlin Speak, Sahana loves spending time with her friends, reading, and listening to music, where she also loves to learn obscure facts about the music she listens to.
